EMU’s women’s club lacrosse team willing to work hard for their sport

After her first year coaching the Eastern Michigan University’s women’s club lacrosse team, head coach Erin Maturo has learned more of what to expect from the team but is still preparing for next year. “I was just hoping to learn as much as I could about the team, the school/club life, and prep for the following season,” Maturo said about her expectations.

Student devotes life to sports

For most sports, the coaches are the older, wiser adults who come to guide the team to glory. For Ann Arbor Huron High School’s football and wrestling teams, the age gap may be smaller than most. Eastern Michigan University sophomore and special education major JaBree Harris, 20, began his coaching career this year as the River Rats’ head wrestling coach.

	The team fell to the University of New York at Buffalo Bulls, but beat the University of Akron.
Tennis

Tennis loses Friday, wins Saturday

The Eastern Michigan University women’s tennis team split its final regular season matches this past weekend. The Eagles fell at home to the University of New York at Buffalo Bulls (3-4) on Friday, but gained the upper hand over the University of Akron Zips, the two-time defending Mid-American Conference tournament champions, (4-3) on Saturday.

	The team won against Northern Illinois University, 6-1, Saturday.
Tennis

Tennis defeats Huskies

The Eastern Michigan University women’s tennis team won its second consecutive meet, when it defeated the Northern Illinois University Huskies 6-1 on Saturday.
