Sophomore started playing baseball at age five

Sam Ott was five years old when he started playing baseball. He is left-handed and therefore, limited to where he can play, but he has played every position a lefty can: all of the outfield positions, first base and pitcher. Fast forward to high school where he earned many honors.

Junior swimmer started young

Michael Swain began swimming when he was around eight years old. He decided to start because one of his friends had won a trophy from swimming, and Michael wanted to do the same.

Diver started sport at age 9

Diving became a part of Christina Nunez-Wood’s life at around age nine. Her neighbor had a pool in his backyard with a diving board and she used it often, doing flips and jumping around.

EMU takes another win

The Eastern Michigan men’s swimming and diving team got another victory under its wing as it defeated the Wayne State Warriors Saturday at Jones Natatorium . The Eagles won with a final score of 143-98. EMU had many great victories, including wins from Jacob Hanson, Troy Esentan, Michael Swain, Andrew Saunders and Tyler Keelean.

Men to face Wayne State tomorrow

After defeating two of the three teams who competed at the meet in Cincinnati, Ohio, Friday and Saturday, the Eastern Michigan University men’s swimming and diving team is back in action at home this coming weekend and looking to use some of its momentum to defeat the Warriors of Wayne State University. The Eagles are 2-3 overall and looking to improve that record with this home meet.
