A would-be purse thief in Ann Arbor was foiled Saturday morning by an Eastern Michigan University student who was on his way to the Vault of Midnight comic book store at 219 S. Main St.
Candidates running for Student Government president and vice president had the chance to make their case and state their positions during Wednesday evening’s debate at the Student Center.
The Student Government sponsored “Rock the Vote” event kicked off this week with special appearances by Congressmen John Dingell and Hansen Clarke on Thursday afternoon.
“Imagine you are a woman making dinner for your family when a militia group barges into your home and says they are going to rape you in front of your husband and children,” said guest speaker Carrie Crawford in a lecture that was part of Women’s History Month.
Repairs at Halle Library have been completed and the ground floor will re-open today, just in time for classes to resume from winter break.

It was first reported the cause of the falling pipe was the breaking of the clamp-like hangers that hold the pipe in place.
The repair process is underway at Halle Library after it was discovered that a clamp supporting a water return pipe had broken loose causing the pipe to come crashing down through the ground floor ceiling, triggering the sprinkler system in the process.
