Areanna Combs scores 22 points in home loss

The Eastern Michigan (14-14, 9-8) women’s basketball team wrapped up their regular season and celebrated Senior Night against the Western Michigan Broncos for their last home game of the season on Wednesday, March 4 at the Convocation Center. After the Eagles crushed the Toledo Rockets 64-46 last week, EMU was ready to get back into action against the Broncos, who were only one spot behind EMU in the MAC standings.

EMU men's basketball demolishes Kent State

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (15-11, 5-8) men’s basketball team defeated the Kent State Golden Flashes on their home court in Ypsilanti on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Eagles beat the Golden Flashes with an astonishing score of 70-49, clinching their third consecutive win after beating Central Michigan and Western Michigan recently.

Combs' 23 points not enough against Akron

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (12-12, 7-6) fell to the Akron University Zips on Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Convocation Center in Ypsilanti. The Eagles only had one double-digit scorer in the game as forward Areanna Combs dropped a game-high 23 points, four assists and two steals in the loss. Shaunay Edmonds had a team-high 15 points for the Zips.

Eagles fall short versus Ohio

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (10-11, 5-5) women’s basketball team fell short on Wednesday, Feb. 5, against the Ohio University Bobcats. Unfortunately for the Eagles, it was their second loss in a row. This was a challenging game for the Eagles considering their top two scorers Aaliyah Stanley and Arenna Combs were out.

Hudson leads EMU women's basketball over Northern Illinois

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (9-9, 4-3) women’s basketball team came back from losing against Central Michigan last Wednesday, Jan. 22 by taking the win against Northern Illinois (5-13, 1-6) on Jan, 25. This was a home game as the Eagles celebrated National Women and Girls in Sports Day and the victory. This is the women’s first win against Northern Illinois since March of 2018.

EMU hosts, competes in Can Am Classic

The Eastern Michigan women’s track team ran away with five titles while at home hosting the Can Am Classic on Saturday, Jan. 25 in Bowen Field House. One of the seniors and co-captains Brittni Mason from Ohio, came close to beating her season best time in the 60-meter dash of 7.55.

Eagles compete in Wolverine Invitational

The Eastern Michigan women’s track team continued their indoor season nearby at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. This is known as the Wolverine Invitational where 10 different schools participated including the Eagles. To start off the field events Sophomore Nina Ward took fourth place in the long jump with a jump of 5.54 meters.
