Martial artists are typically known for their aggressive, choppy moves and rough behavior. Don’t stereotype too fast though, because the fighters of Capoeira take defense to a whole new level.
As campus is brought to life again, so are the possible crimes and dangerous situations students face each fall.
Choosing a major to declare is never easy. It maps out the rest of a college student’s academic career — not to mention life — after receiving a degree.
June 15 A larceny of a laptop occurred at the Convocation Center at 6:04 p.m. June 16 An intoxicated minor was found in possession of alcohol on LeForge Road and Huron River Drive, at 3:05 a.m. An individual was found in possession of marijuana at Lowell Street and Forest Avenue at 4:38 p.m.
Eastern Michigan University adjunct instructors gained representation last Tuesday. Ballots proved the majority of voters agreed with the proposal of a union between adjunct professors and the Eastern Michigan University Federation of Teachers.
June 6 — Damage to business property in Jones Hall was reported. A subject was arrested for possession of marijuana while walking through campus near West Circle Drive and Oakwood Street at 11:08 p.m.
At 2:17 a.m. June 6, devastation hit Dundee and the surrounding areas. An EF2 tornado touched down in the small town, bringing wind speeds of up to 135 MPH along with it.
Construction has begun to repair College Place between West Cross and Forest streets. During this time, the sidewalks are also being attended to.
May 29 — An altercation among players on the basketball court occurred in the REC IM at 10:09 a.m. Citations for disorderly conduct were issued and the case was closed May 30. A subject was arrested on Oakwood St. at 3:34 p.m. for failure to appear and driving with a suspended license. The subject had a bench warrant with EMU police. The case closed May 30.
The EF2 tornado that touched down June 6 afflicted much of Dundee and surrounding areas. Damages included loss of electricity and 11 injured people. DTE restored the town’s power last Tuesday. Now, the small town is focusing on rebuilding and recovery.

Trees fell in front of a house in Dundee during the weekend storms that produced a tornado. Many residents were without power until Tuesday.
