Eastern Michigan University’s Best Buddies program, in partnership with the VISION Volunteer Center, hosted its 16th Best Buddies Annual Outer Space Ball on Saturday evening in the Student Center Ballroom.

EMU Homecoming king crowned

Eastern Michigan University junior Blake Navarre was crowned the 2012 Homecoming king during halftime of the Homecoming game against Kent State Oct. 6 at Rynearson Stadium. Navarre is from Ypsilanti and majoring at EMU in healthcare administration. Navarre spoke with The Eastern Echo about his achievements and overall excitement of being crowned EMU Homecoming king.

Eastern Michigan University senior Ja’La Wourman was crowned Homecoming queen during halftime at the Homecoming game against Kent State at Rynearson Stadium Oct. 6. Wourman spoke with The Eastern Echo about her achievements and excitement at being crowned queen.

Campus Jam entertains students

Eastern Michigan University students and Ypsilanti citizens came out on Saturday, Sept. 15 at University Park and the Student Center patio to enjoy the festive activities of Campus Jam, hosted by Campus Life. The night was filled with fun, excitement, live music and free food.

Welcome Week is under way

L.I.V.E. Welcome Week is upon us once again, Eastern Michigan Eagles. Launched in fall 2011 by Reginald Barnes, director of Diversity and Community Involvement, and student leaders, Learning Integrity Valuing Equality, or L.I.V.E., is a program designed to connect with culturally underrepresented and first-generation students on campus.
