In response to recent suicides, Spirit Day aims to raise awareness of harassment against the LGBT community. Supports are urged to wear purple on Oct. 20.
Eastern Michigan University’s Astronomy Club meets at 7:30 p.m. every Thursday in 402 Sherzer Observatory. Meetings are always free and activities range from stargazing and observing nebula rings to watching astronomy-themed movies such as “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.”
Eastern students participate in the tournament. The event has grown massively in its seven years at the REC IM.

Mark C. Carnes came from New York to lecture EMU on the psychology of slacking off in a universiy setting. Carnes believes that a change in the nature of the classroom could make it as interesting as drinking.
