Ypsilanti engineer accused of allegedly sharing confidential information with Iran

Ypsilanti engineer, Amin Hasanzadeh is being accused of allegedly sharing confidential information with his brother in Iran, who has connections with Iran’s cruise missile research. Hassanzadeh is said to have been a senior hardware engineer and had access to highly sensitive confidential information.

Local non-profit organization, Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels, building broken into; safe stolen

A non-profit organization, Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels was broken into the morning of Oct. 25.,with the safe being stolen. The staff reported the incident to the community on their Facebook page. No further updates have been released.

City Council approves ordinance that will allow recreational marijuana businesses in the city

City council members vote to remove gay pride, transgender pride, Black Lives Matter flags from council chambers

Members of the Ypsilanti City Council voted to remove gay pride, transgender pride and Black Lives Matter flags from the council chambers during the Aug. 27 meeting. The resolution, which passed 5-2, states that City Council does not want to become a forum to advertise or promote any particular ideology. As a result, it was agreed upon that the only flags allowed in the council chambers are the United States of America, the state of Michigan and the city of Ypsilanti flags.
