Washtenaw County Health Department awarded $30,000 for three community projects

The Washtenaw County Health Department is awarding $30,000 in grant funding for three community projects that are helping to improve access and consumption of healthy foods. The funding was awarded through the health departments program, Building Healthy Communities.

21-year-old man fatally shot in local Ypsilanti Township park

Saturday night, on Jan. 11, a 21-year-old man was found shot to death in Nancy Park. Medical personnel tried transporting him to the hospital, but he died of wounds. No arrest have been made yet.

Ypsilanti robbery occurs southwest of campus

The Eastern Michigan Police sent out an email to all students and staff early Wednesday about an off-campus robbery that occurred on the night of January 7. The suspect hit the victim with an unknown object and stole cash. The suspect fled the scene in a pickup truck.
