Wrestling continues streak by getting win vs Vikings

The Eastern Michigan University men’s wrestling team has defeated the Cleveland State University Vikings for five straight seasons, and this season was no exception. The Eagles returned home to triumph over the Vikings Friday at Bowen Field House.

Wrestling wins 2, loses 1 at meet

The Eastern Michigan University men’s wrestling team showed improvement when they competed at the North Dakota State University Quad meet Saturday. They took on the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, the Itasca Community College Vikings and the North Dakota State University Bison.

After the tough loss against Michigan State University at home, the Eastern Michigan University men’s wrestling team went on the road in the hopes of securing a win against the Clarion University Golden Eagles in their second dual meet of the season.

Freshman places 1st at wrestling tourney

The Eastern Michigan University men’s wrestling team kicked off their season with the 21st EMU Open at Bowen Field House Nov. 3. The tournament played host to over 450 wrestlers and well over 25 schools across the country, including nationally ranked wrestlers. The NCAA Divisions l, 2 and 3 were also represented.

As the Eastern Michigan University football, soccer and volleyball seasons draw to a close, other sports are opening their competitive season and getting ready for the spotlight, such as the EMU men’s wrestling team.

Eastern Michigan University’s wrestling team sent four players to compete in the NCAA Tournament and many were eliminated during the second round.

EMU wrestling in midst of Midlands Championship

Eastern Michigan University entered the the 49th Annual Midlands tournament with nine of it’s top wrestlers and the Midlands tournament prepared a tournament of top competition. Taking place in Evanston Illinois, at Northwestern University, EMU has held moderate success through the tournament.



More than 300 wrestlers and their families came out to compete at the 19th annual EMU Open at Bowen Field House.

Individual wrestlers successful at EMU Open

Junior Filiberto Colon led the Eastern Michigan University wrestling team Saturday at the 19th annual Eastern Michigan University Open at Bowen Field House. Colon won his 133-pound weight class. Six other EMU wrestlers made it to the finals and lost.


Two wrestlers get ready for NCAA championships

Eastern Michigan University’s Sean Clair and David Wade will be heading to Omaha, Neb., for the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships from March 18-20. Clair is a 133-pound senior out of Turtle Creek, Pa.

David Wade and Nick Whitenburg placed second in their respective divisions for Eastern Michigan University wrestling team, as it opened its season Saturday by hosting the 18th annual EMU Open at Bowen Field House.

Roundup: Soccer to continue in playoffs

Eastern Michigan’s soccer team plays Miami at 2 p.m. Friday in the semifinals of the Mid-American Conference tournament on the campus of Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant.
