Review: WrestleMania 36 became the strangest universe

The Grandest Stage of Them All in pro wrestling — WrestleMania took place during an unparalled circumstance in the world that lasted for two nights, leaving fans perplexed on what they will witness. The 36th show granted new world champions, an NXT strong performance and bizarre matchups never done before.

Review: WWE NXT - Dusty Classic and Fatal 4-Way

The annual Dusty Classic began where NXT’s best tag teams were paired against each other to compete for the Tag Team Classic trophy and a title shot.The women’s division were all aiming for a shot at new Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley. The midcard NXT North American Championship contender was decided in an explosive Fatal 4-Way between Damian Priest, Cameron Grimes, Dominic Dijakovic and Keith Lee.

EMU wrestling place fourth in four sets

Eastern Michigan University played host Saturday to a wrestling event at the Convocation Center for a plethora of teams from the Midwest. Opponents included Big Ten schools like Ohio State and Michigan State along with MAC opponents in Toledo, Northern Illinois and Central Michigan. These teams, along with other schools and universities, competed in 12 different weight restrictions. Of the 12, Eastern placed in the top four in four of the sets. Freshman Tanner Smith was the sole victor for the Eagles, placing first in the freshman/sophomore 149 pound weight division.

Wrestling edged out by MSU on Senior Day

The Eastern Michigan wrestling team were unable to win their final home dual of the season when they fell to Michigan State, 17-16, on Sunday at the Convocation Center. Senior Devan Marry fell in a 5-0 decision on the last match of the day which allowed the Spartans to leave Ypsilanti with a 17-16 victory.  Outside of Marry, the other two starting EMU seniors picked up victories in their final matches in Ypsilanti.

Eagles fall to no. 9 Missouri at home, 22-12

The Eastern Michigan wrestling team was defeated by the no. nine ranked Missouri Tigers at the Convocation Center on Sunday. The Tigers featured six nationally ranked wrestlers against the two nationally ranked players of Eastern Michigan.

Wrestling falls to Ohio in MAC opener

Even with three starting seniors winning their own individual matches, the Eastern Michigan wrestling team was unable to keep up with the Ohio Bobcats in a 20-12 loss at the Convocation Center on Friday. With veteran Jacob Davis injured, the Eagles looked to their bench for wrestlers to come in and contribute.

Wrestling kicks off season with 42-0 shutout

The Eastern Michigan wrestling team kicked off their season with a 42-0 win over Olivet College on the road on Friday Nov. 11. Eastern Michigan (1-0) performed their first shutout since the previous season against Michigan State as the Eagles saw five starters who did not perform in the previous season.

Eagles lose fifth straight meet

The Eastern Michigan wrestling team (7-7, 2-5 MAC) lost its fifth straight meet on Friday to in-state rivals Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant in a 22-12 rout.

Eagles collapse late, lose to Kent State

The Eagles dropped the last four matches of the night to lose by a score of 19-14 to the Kent State University Golden Flashes at the Convocation Center on Sunday, despite being in the lead early in the competition.

Eastern Michigan Wrestling defeated the University of Northern Iowa Panthers for the first time ever on Wednesday at the Convocation Center in a 22-14 victory.

Eagles dominate to win third straight

Eastern Michigan started its Mid-American Conference schedule with a 30-3 win against the University of Buffalo (4-2, 0-1) on Sunday afternoon in Ypsilanti, giving the Eagles a three match winning streak thanks to strong performances from key members of the squad.

Eagles wrestling keeps clean slate against Spartans

The Eastern Michigan wrestling squad defeated the Michigan State University Spartans by a score of 34-0 in East Lansing on Wednesday thanks to four key decisions won by Devan Marry, Dakota Juarez, Derek Hillman and Anthony Abro. The Eagles (3-1) were able to keep their in-state foes scoreless in their most dominant performance to-date.
