Tennis wins four road matches during weekend

This past weekend, the Eastern Michigan University women’s tennis team traveled to Bloomington, Ind. to take part in the Hoosier Classic, while senior Nino Mebuke and sophomore Klara Supejova competed at the ITA All-American Championships in Los Angeles, Calif.




	The team fell to the University of New York at Buffalo Bulls, but beat the University of Akron.

Tennis loses Friday, wins Saturday

The Eastern Michigan University women’s tennis team split its final regular season matches this past weekend. The Eagles fell at home to the University of New York at Buffalo Bulls (3-4) on Friday, but gained the upper hand over the University of Akron Zips, the two-time defending Mid-American Conference tournament champions, (4-3) on Saturday.

	The team won against Northern Illinois University, 6-1, Saturday.

The Eastern Michigan University women’s tennis team won its second consecutive meet, when it defeated the Northern Illinois University Huskies 6-1 on Saturday.

First loss on new courts

The Eastern Michigan University women’s tennis team premiered its new home courts at the Claudia Wasik Tennis Complex March 30.


	Coach Ray said he thinks the team is headed for a top three finish.

EMU tennis wins matches

The Eastern Michigan University tennis team started its double-header against the Dayton Flyers Saturday at the Chippewa Club. Eastern defeated its visitors from Ohio in the first match, as well as the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies from Rochester, Mich., in the second match—both by 7-0 margins.

Women’s tennis wins against Detroit Mercy

The Eastern Michigan University women’s tennis team kicked off the weekend with a win against the University of Detroit Mercy at the Chippewa Club Friday. As a result, EMU improves to 3-4 this season.

Women’s tennis beats Lopers

The Eastern Michigan University women’s tennis team started their regular season on the right foot, taking down the University of Nebraska-Kearney Lopers in a 7-0 shutout Friday. The meet took place inside the Nebraska Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb. All matches were won in two straight sets.

EMU tennis team loses seniors, gains new, younger players

As they begin the fall tournaments, the Eastern Michigan University women’s tennis team is looking to find success with a very young team. “I’m looking for our juniors to show good leadership, as we are a young team with no seniors this year,” head coach Ryan Ray said.



The Eagles’ singles players won six of the last seven games in the match Saturday. Sophomore Miram Westerink shown here in 2009, won over Rachel McGowan 6-2,6-2.

Despite injuries, tennis comes out on top

The Eastern Michigan University women’s team won Saturday, picking up its third straight victory at the Chippewa Racquet Club. It defeated Duquense University, 5-2, at the first meeting of the schools.
