Eastern Michigan’s swim and dive team traveled to Bowling Green, Ohio to compete in the MAC Championships. Despite not winning the Championship EMU earned three silver and two bronze medals.
The Eastern Michigan University track and field team competed at the Kent State Field House for the MAC championship on Friday, Feb. 25, and Saturday, Feb. 26. The mens' team went on to secure its second consecutive MAC championship, as they finished in first place with a score of 166. The womens' team fell short, earning second place with a score of 84.5. Junior Baldvin Magnusson was named MVP, and director and head coach, Sue Parks, was named men's Coach of the Year in the MAC.
Eastern Michigan University mens' basketball team (10-18, 5-12 MAC) hosted the Northern Illinois Huskies (8-18, 5-11 MAC) Tuesday, Feb. 22 at the George Gervin Above Center. Tuesday's matchup between the Eagles and Huskies marked the 50th meeting since 1999.
The Eastern Michigan University mens' basketball team (9-18, 4-12 Mid-American Conference), took on the University of Akron (17-9, 10-6 Mid-American Conference), which resulted in a 67-48 loss for the Eagles. EMU freshman Noah Farrakhan led the Eagles with 21 points. His performance put him at fourth all-time in freshman scoring in EMU mens’ basketball history, passing former EMU guard, Darryl Garrett.
The Eastern Michigan University baseball team fell short 11-9 against Winthrop University in 2022 season opener. Junior Matt Kirk led the offense for the Eagles, going 4-for-5 earning two doubles and an RBI. Senior Shane Easter contributed two RBIs and went 3-for-5. Zach Fruit completed three strikeouts for the Eagles.
After a 5 game losing streak the Eagles took a win over Miami University 70-61. Miami leads in head-to-head victories, 43-23, in the all-time series between Eastern Michigan University and Miami University after Wednesday’s win. Areanna Combs led the Eagles with 19 points.
Tuesday's matchup between the Eagles and Chippewas marked the 50th meeting since 1999. The win over the Chippewas extends the Eagles' lead in the series to 30-20. The Eagles' dominated over the Chippewas, leading since the start of the game. By the end of the first half, the Eagles pushed the lead to 43-30.
EMU men’s and women’s golf team traveled to Florida to compete in the first tournaments of the spring season. The men’s team went 2-0 on the first day of the tourney, while the women’s team had several ties.
The Eastern Michigan University tennis team took on Cleveland State on Thursday, Feb. 10. The Vikings came out with the win over the Eagles, 4-3. Freshman Sabina Brichackova remains perfect on the season as she improved to 4-0 after an individual win.
Eastern Michigan University’s womens’ basketball team traveled to Buffalo, New York for a matchup against the University at Buffalo. The matchup between EMU and Buffalo is the 29th meeting between the two teams since 1999. Prior to Wednesday’s game, both teams tied for 14 wins and 14 loses since 1999, with Buffalo taking the win over the Eagles the last seven games. Buffalo broke the tie after outscoring the Eagles 93-68 on Wednesday night.
The Eastern Michigan mens’ basketball team (8-13, 3-7 MAC) took on Ohio University (18-3, 9-1 MAC) in Athens, Ohio. The Eagles fell to the Bobcats, 81-68. Senior Nate Scott led the Eagles as he scored 16 points while shooting above 50-40-90.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles took on the Buffalo Bulls Wednesday at the George Gervin Game Above Center which resulted in a 69-62 deficit. The Eagles are back at home Feb.5 to face Kent State.
On Feb. 1, the Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team fell short to the University of Toledo 86-66. The third annual “glow night” took place during the Eagles vs. Rockets matchup. Four EMU players scored in double figures.

Freshman Colin Golson Jr. led the team in scoring, putting up 16 points. Junior Bryce McBride added on 15 points. The Eagles look to bounce back at home on Saturday, Jan. 29, against Miami University.

The Eagles were led by redshirt junior Juanita Agosto, who earned her second career double-double by scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for EMU.
EMU Men’s basketball were clipped by Kent State 56-47. Bryce McBride didn’t let up, scoring 20 points off the bench.
