Soccer team earns multiple MAC awards

Following a Mid-American Conference regular season title, the Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team earned an array of individual awards, including six All-MAC team honors, both Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year awards, as well as the Coach of the Year award.


EMU soccer falls 1-0 in the MAC Semifinals

An early goal by sophomore defender Lindsey Lee turned out to be difference as the Eastern Michigan University soccer team lost to Western Michigan University 1-0 in the Mid-American Conference Tournament semifinals at Scicluna Field. Lee scored unassisted in the ninth minute on a rebound directly off of sophomore goalkeeper Megan McCabe after making the initial save. “Again, those early goals (hurt us again) and have been our (weakness) all season,” EMU head coach Scott Hall said. “Big games like this where people are fighting up at the end of the game and Western hung in and give them credit (for that).” Hall noticed some adjustments from the Broncos after playing them on Oct.

Behind two straight second half goals, the Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team earned the Mid-American Conference regular season championship with a 2-1 victory over Western Michigan University at a rain-soaked WMU Soccer Complex on Thursday.

Soccer beats Akron Zips, 4-1 on Senior Day

The Eastern Michigan University (10-6-2, 7-2-1 Mid-American Conference) women’s soccer team sent its five seniors out on top, beating the University of Akron Zips 4-1 in the final home game of the regular season at Scicluna Field on Sunday.

A pair of second-half goals helped the Eastern Michigan women’s soccer team clinch its spot in the 2013 Mid-American Conference tournament, with a 2-0 victory over Kent State University on Oct. 20 at Zoeller Field.


Disputed overtime goal leads to loss vs. Miami

A controversial goal in double overtime spelled doom for the Eastern Michigan University soccer team, as they were bested by the Miami University RedHawks 1-0 at Scicluna Field. Miami senior midfielder Kayla Zakrzewski found the net with 1:18 remaining in the second overtime to give them the victory.


BSU snaps EMU’s streak

The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team fell for the first time in conference play, losing to Ball State University 1-0 on Oct. 11 at Scicluna Field. The loss also snapped Eastern’s six-game winning streak.

For the second time in her career, Eastern Michigan University senior forward/midfielder Stephanie Clarke has been named Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the week.

The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team continued its dominating start to conference play, beating Bowling Green State University 2-1 at Cochrane Field, extending EMU’s winning streak to five games. This win streak is the longest the team has had since 2001 (seven-game winning streak).



	Four first half goals helped the Eastern Michigan women’s soccer team avenge their 2012 Mid-American Conference tournament defeat by beating the Toledo Rockets 4-3 at a wet Scicluna Field.

Women's soccer shuts out ISU, 4-0

The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team won its second consecutive match, beating the Indiana State University Sycamores 4-0 at Scicluna Field on Sunday. The match was dedicated to Ovarian Cancer Awareness, as the team wore armbands, headbands and special white jerseys with teal numbering to commemorate.


	The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team snapped its five game losing streak in convincing fashion, beating the Stetson University Hatters 5-1 on a soggy Scicluna Field on Friday evening.
