EMU human resources graduate programs rank top 10

Two of Eastern Michigan University's graduate Human Resources programs have been ranked in the top 10 in a nationwide survey. According to a press release from university communications, the Masters of Science in Human Resources and Organizational Development placed in the top 10 for programs emphasis in Human Resources.

Halle Addison and Cali Curlee, two freshman at Eastern Michigan University, thought they were compiling research on nonverbal behavior for their nonverbal communications class when their findings turned into #OperationYouCanDoIt and went viral.

Bernie Sanders visits the EMU Convocation Center

The Convocation Center was packed to bursting point when democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders came to campus. The line to get into the building wrapped all the way down to Huron River Drive and then down that road to the Bubble. Once the crowd of thousands was inside, the roar of his supporters shook the building.

Sanders' Monday EMU appearance leads to campaign office opening

Feeling the Bern has “berned” its way to Washtenaw County with the opening of the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Official Bernie 2016 Office on Saturday Feb 13, 2016. Excitement is building in Washtenaw County as volunteers and campaigners are upping their efforts to advocate for Senator Sanders in his presidential race.

EMU's College Democrats hosts debate viewing party

The Eastern Michigan University College Democrats held a debate watch party on Thursday, Feb 11, in the Student Center. Energies were high among the 40 students in attendance as they watched the PBS News Hour Democratic debate featuring 2016 presidential candidates Sen.

Introducing The Eastern Echo’s newest event and news based podcast, Scoop on the Scene. These weekly episodes will be hosted by the organization’s Digital Editor, Julez DeShetler. She intends to bring awareness to the events happening on an around campus to Echo listeners. 

DeShetler’s goal with the podcast is to encourage students and community members to get involved in an educated, safe and fun manner. She will list various events to choose from in addition to sharing the key details of said events. 

These podcasts can be expected to come out near the weekends and be no longer than 10-15 minutes.

For the week of Sept. 14 to Sept. 20, DeShetler includes events such as sports, a pub crawl, yoga, a movie in the park, Study Abroad Fair and training sessions. 

Be sure to tune in weekly to stay up to date on all the Eastern Michigan and Ypsilanti amusement!
