March 30 A male subject was charged for public drunkenness at the intersection of North Normal Street and Washtenaw Avenue at 3:44 p.m. A subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled narcotic at the intersection of North Hamilton Street and Washtenaw Avenue at 7:03 p.m.

	A 20-year-old man and 20-year-old female have been arrested as suspects in the murder of a 46-year-old Detroit man who came to help his daughter settle a lease dispute.

Roommates suspects in man’s murder

A 46-year-old Detroit man was killed at Peninsular Place apartments Sunday night. Ypsilanti Police have already arrested two suspects, a 20-year-old male and a 20-year-old female, a couple who lives at Peninsular Place.

Transfer programs save students money

The Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers transfer agreement allows students to transfer from community colleges to select baccalaureate universities within Michigan. It provides transferability of 30 credits to meet many, or all, of the general education requirements at four-year colleges.


	Members of Students for an Ethical Participatory Education had flash mobs and led a protest march to get the university to cut its contract with Adidas.

Students for an Ethical Participatory Education has taken a more aggressive approach to get the attention of Eastern Michigan University’s administration, and are hoping to incite an answer regarding the university’s contract with Adidas.

Student Government denies group funds

Gregory Champion, president of the Eastern Michigan University pro-life group Students for Life, said when the group applied for funding in February they didn’t expect to be fully funded, but each student at EMU has mandatory dues.


Echo endorses Miller, Monea

The Eastern Echo editorial board has decided to endorse Desmond Miller for the position of Student Body president and Antonino Monea as Student Body vice president in the upcoming Student Government election at Eastern Michigan University. Of the candidates, we feel Miller offers the most experience and provided the best plans moving forward to address students’ concerns on campus.

Mock trial team in semi-finals

Eastern Michigan University’s mock trial team will be participating in the opening rounds of the semi-finals next weekend in Cincinnati, Ohio. The program takes students from colleges around the country and puts them through the real legal procedures of a court case.

This week, a lawsuit was brought against Eastern Michigan University by the Christian legal ministry Alliance Defending Freedom on behalf of campus pro-life group Students for Life.
