Red Wings and Eastern collaborate for TRUEMU Night fundraiser.
Love hockey and supporting EMU? Eastern Michigan University is hosting a TRUEMU night with the Detroit Red Wings on Feb. 23.
The Detroit Red Wings reached the playoffs in 25 consecutive seasons, including winning four Stanley Cup Finals, before failing to reach the postseason in 2016-17 as they went just 33-36-13. Since then, the Red Wings have missed the playoffs another two years and finished 2018-19 with only 32 victories. Being eliminated from playoff contention in three straight years after playing deep into the postseason for nearly three full decades is a major wakeup call.
The Eastern Michigan University club hockey team took on fellow Eastern Collegiate Hockey Association team in the Kent State Golden Flashes, losing 4-1 at home despite leading in the first period. The Eagles held the advantage going into the break, but the Golden Flashes used its veteran presence and poise to take advantage of the young Eastern Michigan roster and take the win back to Kent State.
The Eastern Michigan University Club Hockey (6-15) skated against Davenport University (10-8) Friday night, at the Taylor Sportsplex.
The Eastern Michigan University Hockey Club was established in 1976 through Campus Life – before any player on the current roster was even born.
Eastern Michigan University’s mens’ hockey team (4-9) took on Slippery Rock University (6-7) on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Both games were played on home ice at Taylor Sportsplex in Taylor, Mich. The Eagles shut out Slippery Rock 7-0 on Friday and won 8-3 on Saturday.
This weekend the Eastern Michigan University Eagles (16-21) took on the University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines (19-18) on Feb. 14-15 both home and away, taking both games.
On Jan. 10-11, the Eastern Michigan University Eagles (12-8) went up against the Davenport University Panthers (17-8) at Patterson Ice Center in Grand Rapids Michigan.

On Saturday Oct. 26, the Eastern Michigan University club hockey team took on Oakland University and won by a score of 5-4.
The Eastern Michigan Universiy Eagles Club Hockey team beat the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies 4-3 on Friday. Junior defenseman and captain Jordan Roemer said he was optimistic and felt prepared going into Friday’s game, even though the EMU Eagles (5-6) lost to the Golden Grizzlies (6-5) 10-2 a week prior.
