EMU golfer falls short of US Open

On June 6, former Eastern Michigan University golfer Casey Olsen traveled to Springfield Ohio to compete in the US Open Sectionals. Olsen scored a 72 in each round of the two-day tournament.

Men’s golf places 13th of 18 in weekend event

The Eastern Michigan University men’s golf team traveled to Indiana this weekend to compete in the Boilermaker Invitational hosted by Purdue University. The team came in 13th place out of the 18 teams competing. The Eagles scored a 914 in the two-day event on the Birck Boilermaster Golf Complex’s Kampen Course.

Golf places 4th

The Eastern Michigan University men’s golf team traveled to Williamsburg, Va. for the C&F Bank Intercollegiate tournament from March 24-26. Due to snow, play was cancelled for both the 24th and 25th. They managed to get a full round in on the 26th, which counted for the tournament’s final scoring.

Women’s golf finishes 8th in tournament

The Eastern Michigan University women’s golf team traveled south to Austin, Texas, for the Challenge at Onion Creek Tournament April 1-2. The team finished in eighth place overall in the tournament with a three round team score of 900.

Women’s golf earns 3rd place at invitational

The Eastern Michigan University women’s golf team finished strong at the Rio Verde Invitational this past weekend in a tie for third place with the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, continuing its success from its last tournament at the Red Rocks Invitational, where it finished in fourth place.

The Eastern Michigan University men’s golf team headed to Pinehurst, N.C., this past weekend hoping to bounce back from a rough outing the weekend before at the USF Invitational, where the team finished in 14th place in the tournament.

The Eastern Michigan University men’s golf team got off to a great start this season after finishing in third place at the Mid-American Conference Match Play tournament. The tournament was held at the Lake Jovita Golf Course in Dade City, Fla., and was hosted by Ball State University.

Europe makes golf ‘history’ with comeback in Ryder Cup

During the Ryder Cup, which took place Sept. 27-30, Europe completed one of the most dramatic comebacks in the history of golf by overcoming a six-point deficit in the last two days, stunning the United States 14.5 to 13.5 at the Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Ill.

Golf performs at U of M

Eastern Michigan University junior and co-captain, Alyssa Kwon, withstood a very competitive field at the par 71, 6, 112 yard Wolverine Invitational at the U-M Golf Course this past weekend. Kwon, along with Alicia Weber from Michigan and Meghan MacLaren from Florida International, shot an overall score of 227 to finish in a tie for first place in the individual part of the tournament.
