Eagles verse Chips

Eagles get bounced by Chippewas 42-30

Five interceptions from Brogan Roback -- including a pick six to seal the deal in the fourth quarter -- led to defeat for the Eastern Michigan University football team (3-7, 1-5) as they fell to the Chippewas from Central Michigan University (6-4, 4-2) 42-30 Wednesday Nov. 8 at Kelly-Shorts Stadium.

EMU drops Homecoming to Broncos

The 90th Homecoming game contained all that and more. However, it would be the in-state rivals that got the last laugh, as the Eastern Michigan University Eagles (2-5, 0-3) dropped yet another overtime heartbreaker to the Western Michigan Broncos (5-3, 3-1) 20-17 Saturday Oct. 21 at Rynearson Stadium.

The battle of I-94. Bragging rights. The Michigan MAC trophy.  The 90th Homecoming game contained all that and more. Eastern Michigan University football defeats Big Ten team

The Eastern Michigan University football team (2-0, 0-0) notched their biggest regular season win in 126 seasons of football Saturday, Sept. 9, as they defeated the Scarlet Knights from Rutgers University (0-2, 0-0) 16-13 in Piscataway, New Jersey.

On Saturday, April 8, the Eastern Michigan competed in its annual spring game at Rynearson Stadium which showcased the team for the 2017 football season.

The Eastern Michigan football team officially signed 21 new student-athletes to their letters of intent to come join the football team on Wednesday, Feb.

As national rates fall, EMU’s attendance numbers rise

College football attendance rates continue to fall as people across the country are staying at home to cheer on their favorite team. The average for all programs in the division was 43,483 people per game in 2014, but has now fallen to 43,288 in 2015. This is less than a one percent decrease, but this just more statistics that show that people are not leaving their homes to see live college football games.

EMU falls to Old Dominion in bowl game, 24-20

The Eastern Michigan football team ended its historic 2016 season at the Popeye’s Bahamas Bowl as the team fell to the Old Dominion Monarchs, 24-20, on Friday. This was the Eagles first bowl game since the 1987 California Bowl against San Jose State.

Wrestling picks up win and a loss at dual home-opener

The Eastern Michigan wrestling team defeated Cleveland State, 38-12, and then fell to Indiana, 25-12 as they kicked off their home schedule with a tri-dual on Saturday, Dec. 11. Redshirt freshman Noah Gonser dominated the day as he won both of his matches including a win over no. 17 ranked Elijah Oliver of Indiana. He forced a fall against Cleveland State and a 7-3 decision against Oliver.

Western Michigan completes perfect season, wins MAC Championship

The Western Michigan football team rowed its way to a 13-0 perfect season with a 29-23 win over Ohio University in the Mid-American Conference Championship at Ford Field on Friday night. The Broncos held off a late comeback attempt as junior Robert Spillane sealed the game with an interception with 51 seconds to go in the game.
