Thompson big in Eagles 75-70 win

Coming off a win against Central Michigan University, the Eastern Michigan men's basketball team continued its momentum when they beat the Kent State University Golden Flashes, 75-70, Saturday afternoon in Ypsilanti.


Eagles sweep CMU in season series

Coming off the loss to State University at Buffalo, the Eastern Michigan men’s basketball team regained momentum by completing the season sweep of Central Michigan, 71-56, Tuesday night in Ypsilanti.

Despite regularly winning, attendance numbers over the years have been dropping at Eastern basketball games. According to the NCAA, since EMU moved to the Convocation Center in 1998, men’s basketball attendance has averaged 1,509 fans per game and only 892 over the last three seasons. From 1982-1998, when EMU played at the 5,400-seat Bowen Field House located on campus, EMU men’s basketball averaged 2,897 fans per game.

Eagles win double-overtime thriller over WMU

The Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team found itself in its third overtime game of the season, this time having to go into double-overtime against the Western Michigan University Broncos Saturday afternoon in Ypsilanti. The Eagles were able to hang on 70-66.

Eagles fall to rival CMU 66-65

Despite a hard fought fourth quarter, the Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team suffered it's third straight loss to the Central Michigan Chippewas, 66-65, Wednesday night in Ypsilanti, Mich.

The troubles for the Eastern Michigan men's basketball team continued Saturday as they lost to the Western Michigan University Broncos, 94-86, in Kalamazoo.

Eagles fall to Akron on the road

A second half scoring drought for the Eagles gave the Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team its second loss in the span of a week, this time to Akron University by a score of 75-72 on Saturday afternoon in Akron, Ohio. Despite back and forth scoring from the Zips and the Eagles, it was Akron who would send the Eagles back to Ypsilanti having dropped two games in four days.  The Eagles got off to a good start with their shooting thanks to guard Cha Sweeney with eight early points in the first quarter.

Coming off the controversial loss to Ball State University, the Eastern Michigan men’s basketball team would lose its fourth straight game to the Kent State University Golden Flashes, 73-58, in Kent, OH.

Loss unchanged after suspensions

The Mid-American Conference gave its resolution to the Eastern Michigan-Ball State ending Sunday afternoon by suspending two of the three referees involved for two games and banned them from MAC post-season play.

The Harlem Globetrotters took to the court to showcase their skills Friday at the Convocation Center. But what most people didn’t know was that there was an Eastern Michigan Eagle soaring amongst the crowd.





Eagles rally from 20 points down but fall to BG

Although the Eastern Michigan Eagles rallied from being down 20 points to tie the game late in the second half, a Raven Lee three-point shot fell short in their final possession as they lost to the Bowling Green State University Falcons 84-79 Saturday night.
