Two is shaping up to be an unlucky number for the Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team. Two conference games and two Mid-American Conference losses—both losses by two points.

Women's basketball falls to Chippewas 77-51

After a come-from-behind victory against Western Michigan University Thursday, Eastern Michigan University’s women’s basketball team could not keep up the momentum; a lack of ball movement played a significant factor in its loss to the Central Michigan Chippewas 77-51 in Mount Pleasant Sunday.

Eagle women come from behind to beat Broncos 56-52

From bench player to difference maker, freshmen Bianca Cage came on the court in just her fifth career game to score 25 points in 20 minutes and lead the Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team to a come from behind 56-52 win against the Western Michigan Broncos Thursday in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Last second foul spoils MAC opener for Eagles

One foul by senior center Da’Shonte Riley and two free throws by Ball State University turned overtime into a 60-58 loss for the Eastern Michigan University Eagles at the Convocation Center Wednesday night. Despite the tough loss, coach Rob Murphy had a few positive comments about the game and his team.



Loyola-Chicago wins against EMU 64-54

The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team lost Saturday to the University of Loyola-Chicago Ramblers at the Convocation Center 64-54, in front of 244 fans.

Eagles fall to UMass in last non-MAC game

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team traveled to Amherst, Mass. to face the University of Massachusetts Minutemen Saturday. On the heels of a 90-38 loss to the University of Kentucky, the Eagles had hoped to wrap up their non-conference play on a positive note. Unfortunately, the Minutemen had different plans and sent the Eagles home with a 75-61 loss.

Men's basketball team drops final non-conference game 75-61 to UMass

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball traveled to Amherst, Mass. to take on the University of Massachusetts Minutemen on Saturday. On the heels of a 90-38 loss to the University of Kentucky, the Eagles had hoped to wrap up their non-conference play on a positive note. Unfortunately, the Minutemen had different plans and sent the Eagles home with a 75-61 loss.




Miranda Tate dismissed from women's basketball team

Wednesday was a rough day for the Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team. Hours after finding out that junior forward Olivia Fouty would miss the rest of the year recovering from knee surgery; the team announced that senior guard and team workhorse Miranda Tate was dismissed from the team for violating team rules.

Eagle women drop tough game to Tulane, 71-65

In front of 1,523 fans, the Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team dropped a nail biter to the Tulane Green Wave in the semifinal round of the DoubleTree Classic at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans, La. 71-65.

Eagles come up short against Grizzlies, 59-57

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team lost a heartbreaker to the Oakland University Grizzlies on Saturday, 59-57 in front of 830 devoted fans at the Convocation Center. Saturday’s loss is only the fifth loss of the year for the Eagles and the first in front of the home crowd.

Men’s basketball lose 74-48

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team went to Chicago Saturday to face the University of Illinois-Chicago, and left having only led twice. The Eagles suffered a commanding loss to the Flames 74-48.


Eagles drop home game to U of M, 55-43

The Eastern Michigan University Eagles lost a tough matchup in front of a predominantly maize and blue crowd of 636 at the Convocation Center to the University of Michigan Wolverines 55-43 Tuesday night. The Eagles are 1-8 on the season, while the Wolverines are 8-2.

Talented team suffers losing season

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team set the bar high over the weekend for the school’s performance over Big Ten basketball teams. In the Eagles’ 47-44 win Saturday at the Convocation Center, they sent the message that the team was in it to win it.
