Eagles Wipe the Floor With Bobcats 76-40

After two consecutive losses during MAC play, the Eastern Michigan University Eagles came back to the Convocation Center and pulled out a 76-40 blow-out win against the Ohio Bobcats. This is the largest margin of victory the Eagles have achieved since 2004 and the biggest win in a Mid-American Conference tournament since 1997. The Eagles finished the first half with a leading score of 31-16; averaging 44.8 in field goal percentage, 11.1 percent from behind the arc, and 100 percent from the free throw.

The hole that the Eastern Michigan men’s basketball team has dug for themselves grew deeper Saturday, falling to Central Michigan 65-51 to fall to 1-5 in conference play.

EMU women's basketball defeats Toledo Rockets 75-61

Eastern Michigan University's women's basketball team earned and impressive win against the Toledo Rockets, beating the MAC west competitor 75-61 this Saturday in Toledo. This game marks the first MAC road victory for the Eagles (10-7), and places them at 3-3 in conference.

The Eastern Michigan lady Eagles continued conference play as the Winter semester got underway taking on both Ohio University and Bowling Green State University last week. The ladies suffered a loss to Ohio but earned a win against BGSU, putting their record at 8-7 overall and 1-3 in the Mid-American Conference.

EMU blows huge halftime lead to Miami (OH), fall to 0-2 in the MAC

There is a saying in sports that no lead is safe until the clock hits zero, and the Eastern Michigan men’s basketball team provided the perfect example for that old adage Saturday with an 82-81 defeat in overtime on the road at Miami, Ohio The Eagles’ took a comfortable 49-30 lead into halftime, but coming out of the half the game turned into a back-and-forth affair between EMU (11-4, 0-2 MAC) and the host Redhawks of Miami (6-9, 1-1 MAC). Miami tied the score at 78 in the end of regulation and was able to shutdown EMU in overtime for the one point win. “Anytime you are in situations like this, you have to step up and make plays,” EMU coach Rob Murphy said.

Women's Basketball gets ready to take the court against the MAC

EMU hopes to shake off poor start to MAC A 6-point overtime loss to Northern Illinois University last Saturday kicked off EMU Women’s basketball conference play on the wrong foot, leaving them 0-1 in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The NIU huskies were also the same team that knocked out the Eagles first round of MAC tournament play last year.

Eastern Michigan’s women’s basketball team (6-4) traveled a short distance to Ann Arbor to take on Washtenaw county rivals— the University of Michigan Wolverines Monday afternoon. After the exciting upset for the men’s team last week, fans and players alike looked to repeat the success at the Crisler Center.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly from EMU's loss to MSU

Rob Murphy’s Eastern Michigan team had a chance to really shock the world Wednesday night in East Lansing. Coming off a huge win for the program defeating the University of Michigan; expectations were high to possibly see something that hadn’t happened since 1987. Unfortunately, Murphy’s squad was not able to pull off the upset but there were some good things to take note of and some not so great.
