Weekend Recap: Eagles split games at Air Force Tournament

Hitting the road for its first game in the Air Force Classic Tournament, the Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team (4-2) squared off and defeated the Falcons of Air Force by a score of 72-59 on Friday, but was then handed a defeat at the hands of Abilene Christian University by a score of 83-59.  Victory over Air Force Junior Cha Sweeney led the way for the Eagles on Friday, scoring a game high 19 points including an 11 point first quarter.




Thompson records third straight double-double in win

James Thompson IV recorded his third straight double-double and Raven Lee returned to the floor following a six game suspension to help lead Eastern Michigan to an 80-73 victory over the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks on Tuesday night in Omaha, Neb. Thompson scored 16 points and 15 rebounds while Lee scored 17 points off of the bench. “Ray makes things a lot easier,” said EMU coach Rob Murphy.

After suffering a loss at the hands of Michigan State on Monday night, the Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team came back with force and defeated the Marygrove College Mustangs, 108-64, Wednesday afternoon.


Eagles fall to Spartans 89-65

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team traveled to East Lansing to play against the Spartans of Michigan State University Monday night. The Eagles defense wasn’t enough to stop the no. three ranked Spartans as they fell 89-65.

Women's basketball blows by TRGVU in win

The Eastern Michigan University womens basketball team continues to protect its home court on Saturday, defeating the Texas Rio Grand Valley University Vaqueros 78-56 at the Convocation Center. The Eagles (2-0) got off to a good start in the opening minutes of the first quarter going on a 10-2 run.


Eagles rout Siena Heights, 79-34

Following a loss to Oakland, the Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team bounced back to protect their home floor as they easily defeated the Saints of Siena Heights University, 79-34 at the Convocation Center Friday afternoon.



Eagles fall to Oakland, 91-81

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team was handed its first loss of the season when they fell to the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies, 91-81, Wednesday night in Rochester, Mich.

Eagles win season opener over Hillsdale

The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team received its first victory of the season behind Sweeney’s 25-point performance over the Hillsdale College Chargers, 94-77, on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Convocation Center. The Eagles would struggle early in the first quarter shooting below 40 percent from the field.

Eastern Michigan University men's basketball guard Raven Lee has been suspended indefinitely for breaking team rules according to a press release from the Eastern Michigan Athletic Department.

Eagles adapt to new game rules in win

Despite an offensive struggle for the Eagles, the Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team defeated the Wayne State University Warriors, 70-43, Thursday night at the Convocation Center in Ypsilanti, Mich. The game introduced the NCAA's new 10-minute quarter format rule along with the foul penalty in each quarter.


Despite change, expectations high for men's hoops

Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball coach Rob Murphy’s fifth season will get underway on Friday Nov. 13 against the University of Vermont after finishing last season with a loss in the third round of the Mid-American Conference to the University of Toledo.
