Eastern Michigan University’s Ford Gallery, located in Ford Hall, will be displaying art Nov. 12-16 of “Memory and Surface,” which is a Master of Arts and Master of Fine Arts show featuring work by Chris Sneed and Joe Wambaugh from their graduate thesis. Their display, “Paper vs Clay: The Art of High Five,” will have an opening reception Nov. 15 from 6–8 p.m.

Eastern Michigan University’s Center for Multicultural Affairs put on the Lively Luncheon event in the Student Center Nov. 1. These luncheons are held every month in regards to current events on a different topic or culture. This particular luncheon was held for Native American Heritage Month and was hosted by the Native American Student Organization.

On Wednesday, Oct. 17, Eastern Michigan University will be welcoming comedienne Sara Benincasa, who will give students an inspirational lecture followed by a question and answer session.
The presentation, known as “AgoraFabulous,” is free and open to the public and will take place in the Student Center Auditorium from 7 – 8:30 p.m.

This year, Eastern Michigan University will be having its first Black Homecoming celebration. The week of events was created to encourage voter registration and raise educational awareness for African-American students, as well as other EMU students. The events are being presented by Celebrating Your Opportunity to Unite in alliance with a few other organizations including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Xi Chapter, Students for Obama, EMU Black Alumni Chapter and more.
