Eastern Michigan University students demand the removal of two fraternities involved in sexual assault cases
September 18The organizer of the protest, EMU freshman Abbigail Francis, gathered students on Thursday to bring awareness to the alleged sexual assaults that may have happened on campus. The protest is also demanding EMU to remove fraternities, Alpha Sigma Phi and Delta Tau Delta, after allegations surfaced that sexual assaults may have occurred at those fraternities.
Eastern Michigan University holds memorial in honor of the twenty year anniversary of 9/11
September 13Eastern Michigan University held it’s annual 9/11 Ceremony of Remembrance on Saturday morning at Pease Park, dedicating a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., marking the time the first plane struck New York’s World Trade Center. The EMU 9/11 Memorial features a 7,000 lb. steel beam from the World Trade Center. Markings on it indicate it is from the 74th floor of the South Tower -- four floors below where the second plane hit.
Hundreds attend Eagle Fest as students return to the EMU campus post pandemic
