Cellar Roots Arts & Literature Exhibit — April 3-30, 2025

Eastern Michigan University's annual arts and literary magazine Cellar Roots is partnering with the Intermedia Gallery Group to host an exhibit of student work through the end of April in the Student Center Gallery. Works included in the magazine are featured in the gallery exhibit. The chosen works were curated through jury selection and published by the student media team. 

Lavender Graduation — Tuesday, April 8, 2025

Celebrating gender, romantic, and sexual identities, the Lavendar Graduation recognizes outstanding accomplishments of graduates each year in April. The event is at 3 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.

Easter Bunny photos at Briarwood Mall — Tuesday, April 8, 2025

From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, and at various other times and dates through the week, the Easter Bunny will be at the Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor. Visitors can stop by and have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny during the mall's shopping hours. 

Presidential Search Open Listening Session — Wednesday, April 9, 2025 

EMU's Presidential Search Advisory Committee and representatives of the executive search firm WittKieffer will be hosting an open listening session from 3 to 3:45 p.m. for students and staff who want to know more about and participate in the hiring process for a new University president. The committee is releasing a survey seeking input on the characteristics the University community seeks in its next president, and on the opportunities and challenges facing the University. The listening session will also include guided discussions on those topics.

Additional listening sessions are scheduled Wednesday and Thursday, April 9-10, although some are focused on specific groups, such as faculty and student government. For a complete list and more information, visit the presidential search web pages on the university's website.

The committee plans to announce a new president by November 2025.

Halle Fix-it Hub — Wednesday, April 9, 2025

The latest in a series of repair workshops at the Halle Library is scheduled from 2:30 to 5 p.m. in room 115.

Jazz Combo Night — Wednesday, April 9, 2025

Line Dancing Lessons at Diamondback Music Hall — Wednesday, April 9, 2025 

Looking for a fun way to get active? Try line dancing lessons at the Diamondback Music Hall in Belleville, Michigan! People of all ages can join dance instructor Amanda for a lesson from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on April 9. No prior experience is necessary, and instruction is available for beginner, intermediate and advanced dancers. The Diamondback is located at 49345 South Interstate 94 Service Drive.

Purchase tickets in advance on the Diamondback website for $10, or get tickets at the door for $15.

Eastern Michigan University Public Health Fair — Thursday, April 10, 2025

Learn the latest about healthy habits, from good foods to great exercise ideas, during the University Health Fair scheduled from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom B. Hosted as a joint project of Eta Sigma Gamma, the Public Health Program and the College of Health and Human Services, the fair is designed to offer health education, health screenings and access to health resources for students.

This event is approved for Learning Beyond the Classroom credit.

EMU Symphony Orchestra & Choir — Friday, April 11, 2025

From 7:30 to 9 p.m. on April 11, music lovers can enjoy the collaborative effort of the University's orchestra and choir at Pease Auditorium.

The event features works such as "Symphony of Psalms" by Stravinsky, "Fern Hill" by Corigliano and "Dixit Dominus" by Martines. Tickets are $10 and available on the EMU Choir events web page

Croakapalooza at Independence Lake County Park — Friday, April 11, 2025

Naturalist Elle Bogle will lead an evening hike featuring a chorus of wood frogs and maybe even some toads. Participants will hike through oak woods and marshland to learn all about the different frog and toad species in Michigan and practice identifying their calls. Hikers are encouraged to bring flashlights or headlamps. The hike starts with a check-in at the Beach Center Pavilion, and the park is located at 3200 Jennings Road in Whitmore Lake, Michigan.

Those interested in participating must register online through the Washtenaw County Parks program pages. Two hikes are available, one starting at 7:30 p.m. and the other at 9 p.m. The participation fee is $10 per family or household of up to five members. Only one person in the family needs to register by choosing activity No. IL461100. A vehicle entry fee is also required. Laser Queen Planetarium Show — Friday, April 11, 2025

Every Friday and Saturday through April 26, the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History is hosting three laser light shows on a dome ceiling featuring the music of Queen. The three show times each evening are 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Seating is limited. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased in advance by calling 734-764-0478 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Rock the Patio — Monday, April 14, 2025

Live music, food and fun are on the menu for the 2025 Rock the Patio event at the Student Center and in University Park. This annual event features performances, activities and a variety of food options.

EMU Marching Band Free Drumline Audition Clinic — Monday, April 14, 2025 

Students interested in participating in the Fall 2025 EMU Marching Band Drumline should attend the free clinic scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. in the Alexander Music Building. To attend, sign up on the band registration form and review the audition packet on the EMU Marching Band web pages.
