Rock the Patio - Tuesday, April 15, 2025
This Campus Life-hosted free concert event begins at 4 p.m. outside the Student Center. Bands, food and fun will continue until 7 p.m. Among the bands and artists scheduled to perform are The Third Degree, Queso Tone, Sydney, The Third Son, Anthony Roperti, and Clay Donta. Festivities will include carnival foods such as cotton candy, elephant ears, walking tacos and pretzels. Other activities include cornhole and shirt tie-dyeing. Stress Free Zone - Wednesday, April 16, 2025
With exam week looming, the Holman Success Center is setting up a zone for students to de-stress and relax. Food, games and stress-relief resources will be available for all students, whether they stay for a few minutes or an hour. The event will be in room G-09 at the Halle Library from 3 to 7 p.m.
Color-ful - Wednesday, April 16, 2025
E-Dining will host a color-filled field day from 4 to 6 p.m. at the outdoor basketball courts next to the REC/IM building. Activities include a one-mile run or walk, yard games, face painting and a pop-up farmers market. Bring a white shirt — it’s going to get colorful! The first 150 participants will receive a free baseball cap.
Open Mic at the Freighthouse - Thursday, April 17, 2025
The Ypsilanti Freighthouse is the site for the University Musical Society's open mic night beginning at 7:30 p.m. Organizers are looking for singers, rappers, comedians, poets and musicians to participate. The event's host is Ypsilanti native Rochelle Clark, a local singer and songwriter.
Known as UMS, the society is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to the performing arts and affiliated with the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The organization hosts performances at the Freighthouse throughout the month of April.
Registration for the open mic night begins at 7 p.m. Participants will be randomly selected throughout the night. A keyboard and public address system will be provided for participants' use. For more information, visit the University Musical Society website.
Ypsilanti Puppet Processional - Saturday, April 19, 2025
Puppeteers will march alongside the Detroit Party Marching Band as part of an afternoon of creative fun.
The University of Michigan’s University Musical Society has collaborated with the Riverside Arts Center and Mark Tucker of FestiFools to put together the parade and other activities as an artistic celebration in Ypsilanti. The event begins at 4 p.m. at the Riverside Art Center, and the parade begins at 5 p.m.
The parade of puppeteers and musicians will end at the Freighthouse, where a community celebration will take place, complete with live music from jazz band Djangophonique. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. For more information, visit UMS's April at the Freighthouse web pages.
Finals Lounge Movies - Monday, April 21, 2025
As the academic year comes to a close, Campus Life will be hosting a weeklong showing of movies to offer hard-working Eagles an opportunity to unwind and re-energize. Students can enjoy a film and free snacks and crafts from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The first showings are Monday, with "Moana 2" and "The Lorax" at the Student Center patio. The rest will be in the Student Center Lounge across from the Eastern Michigan University bookstore.

Campus Life is sponsoring the Finals Lounge during finals week. Starting on April 21, 2025, students can take in a movie and snacks at the Student Center. Movies start at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. daily.
