Top summer concerts coming to Detroit from artists ranked on Billboard 100

As summer approaches, music fans can get excited about a number of visits to Southeast Michigan by top-chart music artists, including Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone and the Goo Goo Dolls.

They're not alone. Here are nine hitmakers from the Billboard's Artist 100 who have scheduled a Detroit-area concert for summer 2025. The following artists are listed in the order they appear on the Billboard’s chart. 

Kendrick Lamar and SZA

Kendrick Lamar’s Grand National Tour along with SZA will perform at Ford Field in Detroit on Tuesday, June 10 at 7 p.m. The tour is named after Lamar's most recent album, “GNX.”

Lamar, who grew up in California, is currently ranked No. 3 while spending 483 weeks on the chart. Tickets are available for purchase on the Grand National Tour website. He has had five albums certified as Platinum sellers, meaning they've sold more than a million copies.

The Grammy award-winning Lamar also received the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Music, becoming the first musician outside of the classical and jazz genres to receive the honor.

SZA, who grew up in New Jersey, is currently ranked at No. 5 and spent 292 weeks on the chart. She has collaborated with Lamar several times and performed alongside him at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime show.

SZA has also received multiple Grammy nominations. She made her acting debut in January 2025 with "One of Them Days," which stars her and Keke Palmer.

Teddy Swims

“I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy Tour,” named after Teddy Swims' two-part album, is coming to the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights on Wednesday, May 21, at 8 p.m.

Born in Conyers, Georgia, Swims is currently ranked No. 11 on Billboard’s Artist 100 and has been on the chart for 82 weeks. The Billboard and iHeartRadio Music Award winning artist played football as a kid before pursuing a career in music. He gained traction from posting covers on YouTube in 2019 and 2020.

The Weeknd with Playboi Carti and special guest Mike Dean

The Weeknd’s "After Hours Til Dawn Stadium" tour is set at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25, at 7 p.m.

The Weeknd, who was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, sits at No. 13 and spent 508 weeks on the chart. He gained his traction from being posted on OVO Sound's blog, Drake's record label. From this, The Weeknd was later featured on Drake's 2011 album "Take Care." 

Since then, the Grammy award-winning artist has had multiple No. 1 hits, such as "The Hills" and "Save Your Tears." He has not performed in Detroit since July 2022, and this time, fans can look forward to performances from albums “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” “After Hours” and “Dawn FM.” 

Playboi Carti ranks No. 9 with 50 weeks on the chart. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Playboi Carti rose to fame in 2017 with songs "Magnolia" and "Wokeuplikethis," hitting the Billboard Hot 100. After not releasing an album in 4 years, Playboi Carti released his new album, "MUSIC," which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 chart, making it the biggest rap album in 2025.

Mike Dean will accompany The Weeknd and Playboi Carti on guitar and keyboard. Tickets are on sale on The Weeknd's tour website.

Tyler, the Creator

“Chromakopia: World Tour” is coming to the Little Caesars Arena on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 7:30 p.m.

The concert is themed around Tyler, the Creator's latest album, “Chromakopia,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in October and remained at No. 1 for 3 weeks. Tickets are on sale on the artist's website.

Born in California, Tyler, the Creator co-founded the music group "Odd Future," which has been disbanded since 2021. He is ranked No. 16 on Billboard’s Artist 100 and has spent 198 weeks on the chart.

Tate McRae 

“Miss Possessive Tour” is coming to the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 7:30 p.m. The tour is themed around McRae’s latest and third studio album, “So Close to What,” which was released in February.

McRae was born and raised in Calgary, Canada. She began dancing at six years old and at 13 was a contestant on the show "So You Think You Can Dance" in 2016.

McRae is ranked No. 22 on Billboard Artist 100 and has spent 130 weeks on the chart. Tickets are available for purchase on McRae's website.

Post Malone

“The BIG A** Stadium Tour,” Post Malone’s eighth concert tour, is set to perform at Ford Field on Sunday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Post Malone currently sits at No. 27 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart and has remained on the chart for 458 weeks.

Post Malone, who grew up in Texas, showed up to the scene with his song "White Iverson" and secured his first No. 1 on Billboard with "Rockstar."

At the concert, he will perform songs from his recent album “F-1 Trillion" along with his big hits. Tickets for Post Malone’s Tour are on sale on his website

Chris Brown with special guests Bryson Tiller and Summer Walker

“Breezy Bowl XX World Tour” is coming to the Little Caesars Arena on Friday, Aug. 8, at 7 p.m. Breezy Bowl Tour celebrates 20 years of Chris Brown as a musical artist and will feature his greatest hits alongside special guests Bryson Tiller and Summer Walker.

Chris Brown currently ranks No. 43 on Billboard and has been on the chart for 481 weeks. Summer Walker ranked No. 100 the week of March 29 and had been on the chart for 67 weeks.

Brown grew up Tappahannock, Virginia, and since rising to fame at 15, he has been featured in movies several movies, such as "Think Like A Man," "This Christmas" and "Stomp the Yard."

Before Breezy Bowl, Chris Brown will perform at the Little Caesars Arena on April 19. Tickets are on sale on his website.

AC/DC

AC/DC’s “Power Up Tour” will perform at Ford Field on Wednesday, April 30, at 6 p.m. The tour is named after their 2020 album and will include songs from it.

AC/DC got their band name from a sewing machine. The acronym stands for "alternating current/direct current," meaning that the device can be used for both types of power.

They currently rank No. 78 on the Billboard chart and have been on the chart for 235 weeks. Tickets are on sale on ACDC's website.

Goo Goo Dolls

The Goo Goo Dolls’ “Summer Anthem Tour 2025” will hit the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 7:30 p.m.

The Goo Goo Dolls said they will have new music ready for the tour as they are working on their 15th studio album. 

The group's name stems from a toy called the Goo Goo Doll. John Rzeznik said that they had to come up with a name for a show and their name stuck.

On Billboard Artist 100 the week of March 29, they were ranked No. 99 since they had just re-entered the chart. Tickets for the “Summer Anthem Tour 2025” are on sale on the band's website.
