Environmental Science and Society Internship Symposium — Jan. 28
Looking for summer internships? This event is the perfect opportunity to learn about internships in environmental science and society. Many environmental groups will represent the government, private sector, education, etc. to talk to students from all majors. This symposium will occur in Strong Hall’s Atrium from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Show Me the Money: A Scholarship and Financial Aid Workshop — Jan. 29
Find ways to maximize the funding of an education during a student-focused workshop on Wednesday at the Halle Library. A team of experts will guide students through the world of financial aid and scholarships. The workshop is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Room G-07 at Halle Library.
Movie in the Pool: Luca — Jan. 29
Bring your floaties, friends, and swimsuits for a night at Jones Pool while soaking up the story of "Luca" in the Rec/Im Building from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29. "Luca" is a 2021 animated, coming-of-age film produced by Pixar Animated Students and Walt Disney Pictures.
Repairsday Thursday: All Hands Active — Jan. 30
All Hands Active invites everyone to bring broken electronics, furniture, toys, or anything else in need of repair to the weekly workshop at 255 E. Liberty, Ste. 255, in Ann Arbor. Held in the basement of the building, the workshop is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30. All Hands Active members will guide participants in the repair of their own items. Faculty and Guest Artist Dance Concert — Jan. 31 & Feb. 1
The Annual “Faculty and Guest Artist Dance Concert 2025” is here! This dance concert features pieces by guest choreographers and EMU faculty members. The annual concert will be at Pease Auditorium, 494 College Place, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, and Saturday, Feb. 1. Tickets are $10 and are available to purchase at the Alexander Building N101 or online at EMU’s Legacy Box Office.
“A Wrinkle in Time” — Jan. 31 to Feb. 2
Pioneer High School Theatre Guild students are performing a young adult novel, a sci-fi adventure about friendship, family, and self-discovery. The plot is about a nerdy teenage girl teaming up with her younger brother and neighbor to save their missing father from an evil force. The show will be at Pioneer High School’s Little Theatre, 601 W Stadium, Ann Arbor. Showtimes for 7 p.m. will be Friday, Jan. 31, and Saturday, Feb.1. Showtimes for 2 p.m. will be Saturday, Feb.1, and Sunday, Feb. 2. The box office opens one hour before curtain for cash and check ticket sales. Coffee Tasting Experience with Curious Coffee Bløm Mead + Cider — Feb. 1
Coffee lovers are in for a treat to taste coffees with different flavors! Mike Bawden, owner of Curious Coffee is hosting a hands-on session offering guests the opportunity to learn the origins of various types of coffee, processing, and roasting. Guests will get to know exactly where their preferences are, so when purchasing coffee or making it at home they know what to look for. This coffee-tasting experience will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at Bløm Meadworks, 100 S. 4th Ave., Suite 110, in Ann Arbor. The Future of Black Politics in America — Feb. 3
Eastern Michigan University's Department of Africology and African American Studies is hosting a Black History Month panel discussion about the future of Black politics in the U.S. This Learning Beyond the Classroom-approved panel will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, in the Student Center, Room 310A. Panel participants include: Mark Fancher, an attorney with the ACLU of Michigan's racial justice project; Eric Brown, an Eastern alum and former Alumni Association president; Charles Simmons, a former Eastern professor; and Robyn McCoy, an attorney and partner with McCoy & Associates in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
