Review: 'Your Fault' leaves fans in tears

This film is based of the second book of series 'My Fault' by Mercedes Ron. This film is full of drama and sacrifice in Noah and Nick's relationship.

"Your Fault," directed by Domingo Gonzalez, is the sequel to "My Fault." It was released to Prime Video on December 27. The film stars Nicole Wallace as Noah and Gabriel Guevara as Nick. It is based on Mercedes Ron's best-selling international novel "Culpa Tuya." This is a Spanish film that has English audio available. Due to its sexual content and strong language, it is for a mature audience only.

This movie is about the discovery of Nick and Noah’s relationship as it is forbidden from their parents. They refuse to be separated, so they go against their parent's wishes. Nick's past catches up to him, creating difficulties for him and Noah. These challenges cause trust issues, which pose a threat to their relationship.

Highs

The highlights of "Your Fault" revolve around Nick and Noah's relationship. Their chemistry is undeniable, and their love for each other is powerful. They believe in each other and never give up on one another. Nick believes in his love for Noah regardless of the consequences he faces. This soon changes when the demons from his past come to light, and he continues to lie to Noah. He fears losing her, which is seen but can be toxic during the film.

Another high is the emotion portrayed by the actors in this film. Wallace's acting as Noah is perfect. She shows her love for Nick in multiple ways and is determined to protect him. The plot of this film is intriguing, considering the amount of drama throughout. Their relationship becomes rocky, which attracts fans, as Noah goes to university while Nick works.

The racing scene is intense and thrilling. Noah decides to race with her friend Jenna in Noah’s fast Mercedes car, which perfectly shows Noah’s personality. Noah races against Nick and Lion; this scene becomes intense quick as they run from cops. It gives the audience an adrenaline rush as the characters portrayed are behind the wheel illegally racing.

Guevara's acting as Nick was as expected based on the book. His demeanor shows his confidence and ego as an upcoming lawyer. He shows his love for Noah in meaningful ways. Their connection is strong, but some of his actions are questionable and could indicate otherwise about his passion.

Lows

The lows in "Your Fault" revolve around Sofia, who works with Nick at his father's law firm. Throughout the film, Nick shows his sexual attraction to her but does not act on it. This can be frustrating, considering Sofia is his age, unlike Noah, a college freshman. Their relationship seems platonic until Nick's parents set him up with her.

The parents are a low because they are determined to ruin their relationship. They bring Sofia to the law firm so Nick can be with her instead of Noah. This is a frustrating aspect of the film because Nick pursues interest in Sofia, creating tension in Noah and Nick’s relationship.

Another low is Noah’s roommate, Briar. She has a malicious motive toward Nick. She is part of Nick’s past relationships and lies to Noah to keep this secret. She acts all fake and friendly towards Noah because she is determined to sabotage her relationship with Nick. Briar creates a malicious plan to destroy their relationship, no matter the cost.

Verdict

"Your Fault" is worth the watch for fans to continue the trilogy. This film takes a dive into the deep problems within Nick and Noah’s relationship.
