Eagle Tips and Tales: Jan. 7-13

Welcome back, Eagles! The new year starts with a bang as Eastern Michigan athletics returns to action, bringing a thrilling lineup of games across multiple sports. From intense basketball showdowns to exciting track and field events, our EMU athletes are ready to take on the competition. Whether you're cheering from the stands or following the action from home, here’s your guide to the can't-miss events this week:

Men’s Basketball at Toledo 
The men’s basketball team hits the road on Jan. 7 for a pivotal matchup against Toledo. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m., and the Eagles will be looking to make a statement as they continue their conference journey.

Women’s Basketball at Ball State 
On Jan. 8, the women’s basketball team will travel to Muncie, Indiana, to play Ball State on a tough road. The Eagles are aiming for another victory to climb the MAC standings.

Swimming & Diving at Buffalo Diving Invite 
From Jan. 10 to 12, EMU's swimming and diving teams will compete at the Buffalo Diving Invite. The times are TBA, but the athletes will look to make waves in this exciting event as they challenge some of the conference's best.

Tennis at Michigan Invitational 
The tennis team will play at the Michigan Invitational in Ann Arbor on Jan. 10. This event promises intense competition, as the Eagles will test their skills against top-tier players.

Women’s Track & Field at Wolverine Invitational 
On Jan. 11, the women’s track and field team heads to Ann Arbor for the Wolverine Invitational. This all-day event will showcase EMU’s top athletes as they go head-to-head with some of the best in the region.

Men’s Track & Field at Wolverine Invitational 
Also, on Jan. 11, the men’s track and field team will compete at the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor. The athletes will be looking to set personal bests and make a strong showing at this prestigious event.

Women’s Basketball vs. Akron 
Back at home, the women’s basketball team takes on Akron at 1 p.m. in Ypsilanti. The Eagles want to defend their home court and continue winning in this critical conference game.

Men’s Basketball vs. Akron 
Right after the women’s game, the men’s basketball team will face Akron at 3:30 p.m. in Ypsilanti. This afternoon doubleheader is a perfect chance to see both teams in action and cheer on the Eagles as they look to gain momentum in the MAC.
