EMU Men's Basketball Game (Open Court)

Eagle Sports Tips and Tales: Dec. 10-16

With winter break just around the corner, there may be fewer Eastern Michigan sports events, but there are still a few exciting matchups to watch! While the holiday season slows the action, don’t miss these key games before the break.

Men’s Basketball vs. Purdue Fort Wayne
On Dec. 15 at 2 p.m., the EMU men’s basketball team will face off against Purdue Fort Wayne in Ypsilanti. It’s a great chance to catch the Eagles in action before the break as they look to secure another win on their home court.

Women’s Basketball at No. 10 Notre Dame
The EMU women’s basketball team will hit the road to take on No. 10 Notre Dame on Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. in South Bend, Indiana. This will surely be a thrilling game as the Eagles challenge one of the top teams in the country.

Head Coach Sahar Nusseibeh spoke about the team’s focus leading up to the break.

"The next two weeks is all about getting better… We’ve got about eight days of non-prep, just getting back into the gym and working on Eastern Michigan," Nusseibeh said. "We’ve watched a ton of film and know where we need to improve. It’s about getting better, both collectively and individually, and spending more time together off the court… We call them EGTs—Eagle Get-Togethers… where we just hang out, get some meals, maybe go to the movies, and build chemistry because that absolutely transfers on the court."

As the semester winds down and winter break approaches, these games are a perfect way to stay connected with EMU athletics. Be sure to cheer on the Eagles and stay updated with The Eastern Echo for the latest news and scores!
