Eastern Michigan University baseball head coach Robbie Britt has announced the appointment of Andrew DiTullio as an assistant coach, bringing a wealth of experience to the Eagles' program. DiTullio, who previously served as the hitting coach at Division II Southern New Hampshire University, is set to join the team in Ypsilanti, as announced on August 14.
DiTullio comes to EMU with an impressive coaching background, having worked across various levels of the sport over the past four years. During his tenure at SNHU, DiTullio led an offense that produced a .299 batting average and propelled the team to the NCAA Division II College World Series. His leadership helped four players earn all-conference honors, four others receive all-region recognition, and one earn Division II NCAA All-American status.
"We're excited to welcome Andrew to our program," said Britt in an interview with Eastern Athletics. "He brings a wealth of experience developing student-athletes at many levels. We're excited for our student-athletes to work with someone who has a high care level for people and is committed to developing leaders both on and off the field."
Before his role at SNHU, DiTullio gained significant league experience as a rehab hitting coach for the Minnesota Twins' Florida Complex League (FCL) team from 2021 to 2023. There, he developed individualized practice plans that significantly reduced the FCL team's strikeout and chase percentages. During his time with the Twins, he also worked with MLB players like Royce Lewis, Alex Kirilloff, and Jorge Polanco.
DiTullio's coaching career began at Florida Atlantic University in 2021, where he assisted with hitting instruction, practice design, and baserunning. His first collegiate coaching position was at Hartford Community College, where he excelled as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. DiTullio's efforts helped the team achieve impressive offensive stats and secure a Junior College World Series spot.
A University of Central Florida graduate, DiTullio holds a bachelor's degree in integrated studies and has experience as a firefighter, having earned his Firefighter Certification from Indian River State College in 2020. His diverse background and commitment to player development make him a valuable addition to the Eastern Michigan baseball program.
