Schroedle made history with EMU baseball team

Graduate student Kyle Schroedle, an outfielder for the Eastern Michigan University Baseball team, has signed a professional contract with the Great Falls Voyagers. 

Schroedle made baseball history for the Eagles on May 19 as he hit for the first cycle in a 10-9 win against the NIU Huskies. This records Schordle as the first time a player has hit for a cycle since 2016 in the MAC. He would then earn the title of MAC Baseball Player of the Week. 

As a recent transfer student, Schrodle significantly impacted the baseball team, starting in 36 of the 46 games during the 2023 season. Schroedle led the Eagles in a 4-0 streak for the season's final games, boosting EMU to a winning record since the 2011 season.  

The Outfielder would conclude his season stats with a .299 batting average, a .903 on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS), a .533 slugging percentage, and a .370 on-base percentage. 

Additionally, he recorded 41 hits (which included 17 extra-base hits), 23 runs, and scored 32 times, totaling 73 bases. Schroedle ended his career at EMU with a five-game hitting streak, a season-high of four RBIs, hit a season-most two doubles in a game, and recorded nine hits in the last four games. 

Schroedle‘s tenure at EMU has left a mark with his impressive statistics and historic cycle for the Eagles. 

Schroedle's signing with the Great Falls Voyagers marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his baseball career. As a recent graduate, Schroedle's dedication, talent, and hard work have propelled him to this significant milestone.
