Cory Taylor shines with three hits despite Eastern Michigan's loss to Bowling Green, 7-1

Eagles and Falcons set for series decider on May 12, 2024

On May 11, during the matchup at Oestrike Stadium, Cory Taylor (Shelbyville, Indiana/Shelbyville) showcased his batting talent with three hits, but it wasn't enough to carry the EMU baseball team to victory against BGSU. Despite Taylor's efforts, the Eagles surrendered to a 7-1 defeat.

The game started with the Eagles trailing 1-0 until the fourth inning when they managed to put a run on the board, courtesy of Taylor. However, Bowling Green took control, scoring six runs over the remaining five innings to secure their 7-1 win.

With this victory and a triumph for NIU over Western Michigan, the Falcons clinched at least a share of the Mid-American Conference Regular Season title.

In the game, Niko Kreuzer (Westerville, Ohio/St. Francis Desales) made an impressive start, pitching 3.2 innings and allowing just one earned run. His performance included a career-high five strikeouts. Taylor continued his impressive season, tallying three hits for the fourth time this year. Additionally, Nathan Ball, (Bay City, Michigan/Bay City John Glenn), contributed to the team's effort by driving in a run in the fourth inning, marking his eighth RBI of the 2024 campaign.

The Eagles and Falcons will return for the series finale on May 12. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
