President James Smith and Henry Ford College (HFC) President Russell Kavalhuna, J.D. will meet on Tuesday, March 19 to celebrate their Learn4ward partnership. The presidents will convene at Welch Hall at 10 a.m. in room 205.
Learn4ward is an initiative to help streamline the experience for a bachelor's degree by making it easier for HFC students to transfer to EMU.
"Henry Ford College has been a longstanding and important partner to Eastern Michigan University for many years,” Smith said in a statement. “We understand that for many students, navigating the transfer experience can seem challenging. This collaboration with HFC provides students with comprehensive guidance and resources from the start of their college journey, ensuring they are well-equipped for academic success."
Learn4ward provides guaranteed admissions to any HFC student with at least a 2.0 GPA, 60 credit hours, and an associate degree in general studies, science, applied science, business, or arts.
This program is intended to lower the costs for those pursuing a bachelor’s while also giving them two degrees within four to six years. On the Learn4ward website, other benefits that are included for Learn4ward students are:
- Specialized advising and support tailored to each student’s academic and career goals at both institutions and virtually
- A 3-year tuition freeze at HFC
