Phil Incarnati donates $2.5 million to EMU Athletics

Eastern Michigan University Regent Emeritus Phil Incarnati has donated a $2.5 million gift to the EMU Department of Athletics, as it was announced on Thursday, Dec. 7. The donation will be put towards phase two of the Championship Building Plan, according to EMU Athletics.
Due to the generous act from Incarnati, the student-athlete performance center will be renamed to the Incarnati Athletic Center in his honor.
Incarnati is an EMU graduate who earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration. While a student, Incarnati was a member of the EMU football team as he played strong safety on scholarship.
After graduating and beginning his career, Incarnati served on the Board of Regents from 1992-2010 as he also served as Chair for 10 years from 1995-2005.
EMU Board of Regents officially confirms renovations to Rynearson Stadium

The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents have officially approved renovations to both Rynearson Stadium and Oestrike Stadium as they released documents of the confirmation on Thursday, Dec. 7.
The changes will be a part of phase two of the Championship Building Plan, according to EMU Athletics.
According to documents, the first project will be a $5 million construction of a new Track and Field Complex. The project will include removing the existing track inside Rynearson Stadium and placing a new track on west campus near the Westview Apartments location.
The documents also included a $1 million renovation to Oestrike Stadium, home of the EMU baseball team. The improvements will include a new entrance and concourse, along with indoor batting cages and improved seating options.
The projects will be fully funded through the receipt of third party contributions or other third party sources, the documents stated.
Almighty Williamson named MAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Eastern Michigan University track and field hurdler Almighty Williamson was presented with the Mid-American Conference’s (MAC) Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
It will be the second time in Williamson’s career that he has achieved the honor as he previously was selected for the first time of his career on Jan. 13, 2022.
Williamson secured the accolade due to his 60-meter hurdles performance at the Saginaw Valley State Holiday Open. The Baltimore native finished with a time of 8.12 in the preliminary round but would then improve his time to 7.90 as he finished first-place in the finals.
His finals time ranks as the fastest in the MAC this season, while also being tabbed at seventh-fastest in the country, according to EMU Athletics.
68 Ventures Bowl tickets are now available for purchase

As the Eastern Michigan University football team prepares for its 68 Ventures Bowl matchup with South Alabama, tickets are officially available for purchase to support your Eagles in Mobile, Ala.
According to the 68 Ventures Bowl website, fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets through their teams’ Athletic Department as it will include several benefits for the University and fans.
Ticket prices for the game include Loge ($165), Club ($125), Chariback ($65), Sideline Benchback Seats ($45), Sideline Bleacher Seats ($45), and End Zone ($15).
Fans can even plan out their trips as the week is filled with tons of events held by the 68 Ventures Bowl, which starts on Tuesday, Dec. 19, and concludes with the bowl game on Saturday, Dec. 23.
