The Eastern Michigan University’s women’s soccer team finished the non-conference season with yet another draw, 1-1, against Valparaiso University on Sept. 10 at the Scicluna Field.
“We outshot a team, we out possessed a team and we still aren’t getting the results,” Head Coach Scott Hall said. “We’re feeling like we’re close and we got two weeks to prepare for it.”
Junior Meagan Lukowski scored the first goal during the first half of the matchup. The Eagles were able to maintain the lead until the second half. The Beacons were able to win the ball back, which would eventually result in a draw.
Seniors Tiffanie Hollingsworth and Rebecca Przybylo were honored during halftime for their performances in the program beginning in 2019. Both players are ready for their first win of the season.
“We don’t have a win under our belt which is a rocky start, but we’re headed in the right direction,” Hollingsworth said. “We’ll get our feet wet and keep the ball rolling."
Next up, The Eagles will take a 10-day break before facing rival Central Michigan University in the Mid-American Conference play, Thursday, Sept. 21.
Following, The Eagles will head back to Ypsilanti in a matchup against Ball State University on Sept. 24.
