EMU Honors College hosts Women's Leadership Panel

The EMU Honors College is hosting a women's leadership panel this week highlighting women of color.

The Honors College at Eastern Michigan University is hosting a women's leadership panel. This event will take place on Monday, March 27, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Honors College reception hall.

“This is the Honors College's third year hosting this event, and I am glad to say that it has been improving each year we host it,” EMU Honors College student and presidential scholarship recipient Tierra Tresvant said.

The Honors College Women's Leadership Panel originated to make sure that women of color had the opportunity to tell their stories. Each year, the women selected for the panel have a valuable platform.

The audience at this panel will have the opportunity to learn from successful women of color who are in leadership roles and be able to learn the qualities of an effective leader. Leadership in areas such as education, politics, public service, and website engineering will be showcased at the panel.

Any EMU student interested in attending this panel can sign up here.

All of the panelists this year are affiliated with the University.

The Women's Leadership Panel will feature Nicole Brown, mayor of Ypsilanti and EMU alum, Eunice Jeffries, board chair of EMU Board of Regents, Linette Lao, creative writing professor at EMU and business owner, and Dr. Jolia Hill, director of EMU’s charter schools office.

The Honors College Women's Leadership Panel is one of the many events that will have taken place during Women's History Month. The last week in March is also known as EMU’s week of excellence, showcasing students and alumni across the university.
