Eagle Nutrition Services closes National Nutrition Month with the Get Your Vitamins 5k run/walk. The fully hybrid event allows runners to engage by walking or running any time between March 24 and 30 while remaining eligible for the same prizes as those who participate in person.
According to their webpage, Eagle Nutrition Services "offers a variety of nutrition education and counseling services aimed at improving a person's health, nutrition and longevity." These counseling services are offered to students at a discounted rate. The service allows nutrition students to learn through real-world experience working with various individuals.
Eagle Nutrition Services "specialize[s] in DEXA body composition scans, which uses X-ray technology to determine body fat, lean mass, and bone mineral density," the results of which can be used to help create comprehensive health plans for the patients.
Working with clients since 1998, Eagle Nutrition Services has aimed to provide students an opportunity to get hands-on experience and to provide the community an opportunity to benefit from their knowledge. The pricing of their services is designed to be inclusive as possible to allow those who need the services to access them.
On top of hosting the occasional 5k, many other community events are hosted, including cooking demonstrations and free cooking classes.
Entry is free, and all students are encouraged to join, no matter their level of experience. To register for the walk, visit the registration page.
The in-person 5-kilometer run starts at 105 Rackham Hall on Thursday, March 30, at 4 p.m.
