5 best movies to binge on Valentine's Day

These are five movies that are the epitome of humor, romance, and sadness, all the emotions one can feel on Valentine's Day. If you're in a mood to laugh or cry, there's a movie on this list for everyone.

5. “My Policeman" (2022)

‘My Policeman’ is for people who want to watch a tragic love story this holiday. "My Policeman" is a sob-inducing film that’ll fill your heart with love and dread. If you are single or in a relationship, this movie will make you feel all the emotions.

4. "The Proposal" (2009)

‘The Propsal' is one I watch over and over again, and it never gets old. Starring Ryan Reynolds, Sandra Bullock and Betty White, how much funnier can a cast get? This is one of those rom-coms I’ll recommend to the end of time. It’s funny, sweet and absolutely hilarious to watch at any time, but especially on Valentine's Day.

3. "Pride and Prejudice" (2005)

‘Pride and Prejudice' is slow burn central. If you're a fan of historical romances and have never watched this film before, you need to watch it immediately. This film, based on the Jane Austen novel, is the perfection of a historical slow burn romance with a fantastic cast. Starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen as a perfect yearning pair of lovers, this movie adaptation will have you watching over and over again throughout the years.

2. "Mamma Mia!" (2008)

‘Mamma Mia!' is a fantastic movie musical that is extremely catchy. It’s a jukebox musical set to the songs of ABBA, which is fantastic on its own. Then you add in a marvelous plot and amazing cast starring Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Firth, it makes it a hit. This movie is romantic, fun, and an overall blast to watch for you and your loved ones (or even by yourself).

1. "10 Things I Hate About You" (1999)

This is another classic rom-com I will never stop recommending. This is one of those films that just fills that nostalgic void in you and stands the test of time. Starring Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger, their characters just hit in the best ways possible. I love the plot and the ease of the movie, and Julia Stiles' character is just out of this world. And not to mention no one ever forgets Heath Ledger's bleacher scene, it’s the peak romance your kid self strived for.

Honorable mention: "The Prince & Me” (2004)

This is another rom-com that stands the test of time, and I simply adore rewatching. Julie Stiles was legit my childhood, and she had a very big impact on my movie watching. This film is a classic boy meets girl, but boy is a prince. It’s one of the rom-coms with a simple enough plot, but it was executed amazingly well, and it set the mold for rom-coms.
