The Eastern Michigan University women’s golf team finished in 11th place at the Charlotte Invitational Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the Cabarrus Country Club’s par-72, 6,381-yard setup.
In addition to EMU, the 12-team field included Charlotte, Cal Poly, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, High Point, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Marshall, North Illinois, Queens (NC), Xavier and Sandhills CC (individuals only).
The two-day tournament got off to a rocky start as they were only able to get through one round. EMU was unable to complete the second round as darkness set in at the Cabarrus Country Club.
The Eagles sat eighth after scoring a 319 in the opening round for day one. EMU wrapped up the event in 11th place with a 951 (322-306-323).
Sophomores Kyleigh Dull and Alyssa DiMarcantonio rounded out the lineup with a 241 (84-75-82) and a 260 (94-79-87) , respectively.
Junior Anna Watson tied for 32nd with a two-day tally of 233 (77-73-83). Senior Olivia Loberg also tied for 44th with a score of 238 (82-79-77). Senior Natai Apichonlati was 50th after posting a score of 240 (79-80-81).
The Eagles will take a four month break between tournaments. Bowling Green State will host The Falcon Florida Classic Feb. 6-7, 2023 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
