As the fall season approaches, Starbucks lovers look forward to trying the company's new seasonal menu options. Tasting new coffee flavors is a fun activity for college students especially, myself included.
I have been waiting since August for the Starbucks fall menu, and many of the fall treats and drinks I have tried so far have exceeded my expectations.
Pumpkin Spiced Latte
I am not the biggest fan of coffee, but this was not bad. The mixed flavor of coffee and pumpkin spice was perfect, but I do suggest getting the iced latte more than the hot. The iced latte is easier to be mixed through because from what I have heard about the hot pumpkin spice latte, it was not good. Many people say it was "chunky" especially when you leave the hot coffee in the heat.
I would rate this 6 out of 10.
Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin
The pumpkin cream cheese muffin is one of the best pastries I have ever tried from Starbucks. The middle part of the muffin is filled with the most delicious cream cheese. The muffin as a whole has the flavor and texture of the ideal pumpkin bread. It is the version of a lighter pumpkin cheesecake.
I would get this again, I rate it a 10 out of 10.
The Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte
This latte tastes the best when it is with pumpkin spice cold foam. The chai tea is lighter on the stomach in my opinion and it makes it better when it has a mix of pumpkin spices. This type of latte is perfect when it comes to a breezy fall day whether it is a hot latte or an iced latte.
I would give this a rating of 8 out of 10.
Matcha Green Tea Latte with Pumpkin Sauce
For all the matcha lovers this is perfect to try when the pumpkin spice coffee is too strong. In my opinion, coffee makes my head hurt especially with all the sugar they put in the pumpkin spice latte. The matcha gives a balance of flavor and bitterness at the same time. I drink it with almond milk since it enhances the matcha's lightness. This drink does have about the same amount of caffeine that coffee has.
This is my favorite drink so I would rate this 9 out of 10.
Pumpkin and Pepita Loaf
This loaf tastes amazing when it's warmed up and is perfect for the morning if you want something sweet and light. This is a light bakery choice item for pumpkin spice because it does not have the strongest taste of pumpkin. The pumpkin seeds offered a tiny bit of flavor with a light crunch. This makes me feel full, hence I prefer it best when I have a cool drink with it.
This is not the go-to bakery item, so I would give this a 7 out of 10.
