EMU men's golf team finishes 11th at Purdue Fall Invitational

Freshman Cooper Eberle finished 33rd in his second career start.

In their second to the last invite of this fall season, the Eastern Michigan University men’s golf team finished 11th out of fifteen teams in the 2022 Purdue Fall Invitational at Kampen Golf Course on Oct. 10-11.

Host Purdue capped off the leaderboard in third place, behind LSU and ultimately winner No. 7 ranked Tennessee.

With a final team score of 913 (304-304-305), the Eagles were led by freshman Cooper Eberle who finished 33rd individually, with a 225 (74-78-83). In his debut at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational on Sept. 12-13, Eberle finished 56th after hitting a 222 (74-72-76).

Fellow freshmen Ryan Sommerville hit a 237 (78-78-81) and Logan Graf a 239 (75-79-85).

Senior Cam Kellet tallied a 226 (80-72-74) to finish 38th overall, not too far behind Eberle, and junior Patrick Deardorff placed 48th individually after hitting a 230 (77-76-77).

The Eagle's last Fall invite is on Oct. 17-18 at the NCR Country Club in Dayton, Ohio.
