3 defining games for EMU’s football program this fall

The Eagles encounter a defining season, welcoming the best recruiting class in recent years and saying goodbye to a talented senior class in December

As the MACtion's return to Ypsilanti approaches, Eastern Michigan University football players have a defining season ahead of them. All EMU students can attend football games free of charge.

September 2 - The First Game

The EMU Eagles kick-off the 2022 season under the bright lights at Rynearson Stadium, hosting the Eastern Kentucky Colonels. Following one of the most successful EMU recruiting classes in recent years, expectations and excitement continue to escalate.

The Eagles recruiting class enter "The Factory" to learn from a strong foundation of standout seniors including WR Hassan Beydoun, DL Jose Ramirez, LB Tariq Speights, RB Samson Evans, WR Dylan Drummond, and OL Sidy Sow. With a plethora of talent leaving in December, it will be important for the Eagles to elevate their expectations on and off the field in respect for exiting seniors but to also set the tone for incoming recruits.

October 1 - Homecoming

Celebrating homecoming at Rynearson Stadium, the Eagles are hosting a matchup against the University of Massachusetts Minutemen. Depending on the season outlook, a dominant homecoming performance over Massachusetts will hopefully spark the beginning of a bowl game push or more wishfully thinking, MAC championship contention.

November 25 - The Final Game

For a final time, the Eagles will enter Rynearson Stadium standing side-by-side with the 2022 senior class. While representing EMU, the senior players aer responsible for notching seven pre-season All-MAC list nominations, in addition to an extensive collection of positional award watch list nominations.

Regardless of the direction the Eagles season takes in 2022, a win over Central Michigan on Senior Day is the only way to send off the 2022 class, who have showcased their talent and loyalty to EMU far beyond gamedays.
