Most people would love to have extra money to save, or simply enough to afford both what you need and items you want. Being a student at Eastern Michigan University gives you the opportunity to save money and takes some burden off of your shoulders. By applying for scholarships through the school, you can hopefully have some extra cash leftover for a rainy day.
Additionally, EMU is one of the few universities in the country that offers in-state tuition prices for out-of-state students.
To start, EMU offers many scholarships to its students in order to support their educational journey and let them achieve their goals no matter what their financial situation is. By filling out a FAFSA form you can get federal aid according to your financial situation. After filling out a FAFSA and applying to EMU, you get automatically considered for the Education First Opportunity Scholarship (EFOS), one of the many scholarships EMU gives out.
Just by applying to EMU, you also automatically get considered for the Emerald Scholarship, which is a renewable for $7,500 a year. Furthermore, if you live on campus, you can be considered for the 4WARD Graduation Scholarship, which offers free tuition to anyone who stays in residential housing all four years.
Finally, the hardest scholarship to be considered for is called the Presidential Scholarship, which pays full tuition and room and board expenses. This one has a separate application and higher requirements, such as a 3.5 high school GPA and 1200+ SAT.
In the end, EMU is such a good supporter of its students and is always trying to help them. You can also get many scholarships from other providers outside of EMU just by using Google and finding opportunities that you qualify for. Most majors have their own scholarships as well that can be found on EMU’s website.
I hope you take the time to apply to some scholarships that could help you along the way.
