Advice: Tips for better time management

Time management is regarded as one of the hardest things to get used to in college. Look no further, because here are some tips to help you with time management.

Time is something that a lot of college students struggle with in their pursuit of a degree. After too many days full of pointless activities such as scrolling through TikTok, I wanted to figure out how to balance having free time, while also being productive. In this article, I am going to share some great tips for time management.

To start, waking up early in the morning is a key solution to getting better at time management. By waking up early, you are making use of the time that is given to you. It also gives your brain more time to wake up, making it easier to understand information when you go to work or class. Not to mention, waking up 10 minutes before you need to be somewhere gives you no time to eat breakfast, which is super important as well.

In addition, writing a to-do list makes managing your life a million times easier. Believe it or not, writing to-do lists helps you remember things better and helps to make sure nothing slips through the cracks. I personally have been writing to-do lists daily for three years and I suggest that every student does it because it is so simple, yet unbelievably helpful. I would also suggest setting reminders on your phone for important due dates and meetings.

Lastly, keep a planner and study when you feel like you have a good amount of energy. If you study when you're tired or not feeling up to it, you probably won't retain as much knowledge. Believe it or not, a quick 15 minute spirited study session can be better than an hour of tired studying.

With just a few weeks until Spring break, take some of these tips to heart and crush your classes.
