The Eastern Michigan Gymnastics team took on Mid-American Conference rival Central Michigan University inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center last Friday, Jan 14. Friday's matinee resulted in the Eagles topping the Chippewas, 193.525-192.925.
EMU started with vault and was led by senior Kara Roberts who scored a 9.800, which tied for first on the apparatus. The Eagles totaled a score of 48.600 in the first rotation.
On bars, the Eagles totaled a score of 48.900, as sophomore Raisa Boris and junior Hadyn Crossen both scored 9.825 to earn spots tied for second. The score marked a career-high for Boris.
Transitioning to beam, freshman Ella Chemotti achieved the top score for the Eagles with a personal-best 9.825 to reach second. Chemotti’s performance helped EMU produce an event total of 48.900.
The Eagles finished the matchup on the floor, earning a score of 47.125. Junior Molly Parris achieved a career-high of 9.825 to lead the Eagles to a 193.525 - 192.925 win.
In the all-around competition, Hadyn Crossen finished second with a cumulative score of 38.350.
