Podcast: Can we trick our taste buds?

A team of EMU researchers has been studying a method to mimic the effect that salt has on one's brain.

It’s a well-known fact that too much sodium can lead to serious health problems. But potato chips, mac and cheese, pizza, and other high-sodium food that many Americans so love can be tough to cut down on.

Dr. Joseph Breza, associate professor of Neuroscience and the Experimental Psychology Master’s program coordinator, has been working with a team of EMU researchers to study a potential solution. Listen to learn what unexpected ingredient they used to mimic the taste of salt.
