Brief: Reviewing the 2019-20 EMU women's soccer schedule

The 2019 Eastern Michigan women's soccer schedule has been released.

The women’s soccer team had their 20-game schedule revealed last week. The Eagles will begin the season away with an exhibition game against St. Bonaventure on Aug. 11 before the second game which will be the home opener against Oakland on Aug. 22 at Scicluna Field. The Eagles will spend the next six games on the road with their eighth matchup being back at home. All six games will be against non-conference teams. EMU will face Loyola-Chicago on Sept. 22 which will conclude their non-conference matchups.

Head Coach, Scott Hall will be heading into his 21st year with the team this upcoming 2019-20 season. Hall and the Eagles finished last season with an 10-11 record. Eastern Michigan put together a four-game winning streak last year, but were unable to make a run in the MAC Tournament as they fell to No. 1 seed Bowling Green in the quarterfinals. EMU went 6-4 on their home field last season.

The Eagles will try to build on that momentum this coming season as they spend the remaining 11 games of the regular season competing amongst other teams in the MAC. The first conference matchup will be at Miami (OH) on Sept. 27th. The last conference matchup of the regular season will be on the road against Central Michigan. The Eagles beat both of those teams last season.

Last year, the Eagles finished with a 5-6 conference record. Although the Eagles had a winning record at home at 6-4, they were unable to find the same luck on the road, winning just four of 11 road games. Other notable games during the 2019-20 are against Western Michigan (Oct. 6), Bowling Green (Oct. 13) and Buffalo (Oct. 27) before the game versus Central Michigan to end the year.

The Eagles will look to compete in the MAC Tournament that starts on Nov. 3.
